Decision Board is a decision-making skill that runs a structured panel of experts, stakeholders and critical counter-voices. Instead of one AI answer you get a real second opinion: independent first judgments, a genuine debate, an assumption and risk check, a minority report and a clear, traceable recommendation.

What this skill does

  • Assembles a fitting panel of 3–7 experts, stakeholders and counter-voices — each role with a goal, worry, blind spot and scoring lens.
  • Collects independent first judgments before any debate (prevents groupthink and anchoring).
  • Surfaces assumptions, separates fact, assumption, hypothesis and opinion, and makes the decisive conflicts visible instead of smoothing them.
  • Scales rigor to risk and reversibility: Quick Board, debate, red team, pre-mortem, decision matrix or launch board.
  • Detects the decision type (idea, feature, launch, strategy, marketing, architecture, diagnosis, risk, organization) and picks mode and roles accordingly.
  • Always gives a minority report: the strongest dissent and when it could turn out right.
  • Ends with a clear recommendation incl. conditions, "don't do it if…", a next test and confidence — optionally as a decision record.
  • Uses web search, files, deep research or connectors transparently (Evidence Mode) and otherwise marks assumptions and open checks.

Description

Decision Board is a skill for better decision-making — a moderated panel of experts, stakeholders and critical counter-voices that helps you weigh the pros and cons and get a genuine second opinion before you commit. Instead of a single opinion, the skill has each role judge independently first (anti-groupthink), then debate; it surfaces assumptions and the decisive conflicts, separates fact from assumption, and condenses everything into a clear recommendation with a mandatory minority report. Decision Board scales its rigor to risk and reversibility: easy, reversible decisions get a fast Quick Board, serious ones get a red team plus pre-mortem, and for high-stakes topics (legal, medical, financial, security, privacy) it produces preparation only and recommends a real professional review. It auto-detects the decision type (idea test, feature, launch, strategy, marketing, architecture, diagnosis, risk, organization), picks 3–7 fitting roles and a mode (Auto Board, debate, critical review, decision matrix, customer jury, launch board, Delphi loop, boardroom, kill-or-keep and more) and delivers structured output: panel, independent first opinions, assumption check, conflict map, options comparison, silent vote, a recommendation with confidence, a minority report, and an optional decision record. Decision Board works fully text-only; when web search, files, deep research or connectors are available it uses them transparently (Evidence Mode) and otherwise marks assumptions and open checks. One-time purchase, runs locally with your own AI — no running costs, no tracking.

Examples

What it does not do

  • Doesn't replace real professionals or give binding legal, medical, financial or security advice — for high-stakes topics it produces preparation and recommends a real review.
  • Doesn't just manufacture consensus: at least one counter-position and a minority report are mandatory.
  • Doesn't invent sources, numbers or ratings — with no data it marks assumptions and open points.
  • Doesn't help with fraud, spam, deceptive advertising, manipulation or anything illegal — it declines and offers a safer alternative.
  • Doesn't balloon to 12+ roles, and doesn't run a full board for trivial, easily reversible decisions.
  • Brings no runtime: it uses the host AI's tools when present, otherwise works fully text-only.

Tested (internal)
4 scenarios
Recommended runtime
Any capable chat model — the skill is fully text-based. Especially strong with web search, files, deep research or connectors (Evidence Mode); in file/project-aware tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) it can use its references, checklist and examples directly in the project.
Modes
Auto Board (default) · Quick Board · Debate Board · Critical Review · Decision Mode · Devil's Advocate · Red Team Board · Pre-Mortem Round · Future Simulation · Delphi Loop · Customer Jury · Launch Board · Decision Court · Boardroom Mode · Kill or Keep · Evidence Mode (with tools)
Inputs
A decision or question in natural language ("Should we …?", "Which option is better?") · Several options to compare · An idea, concept, plan, text or strategy to examine · Optional: data, files, links or research results (Evidence Mode)
Output format
A structured Markdown report — verdict first, then panel, independent first opinions, assumption check, conflict map, risk/pre-mortem pass, options comparison with a decision matrix, silent vote, a recommendation with confidence and a minority report. Optionally a decision record. Tables, argument cards and answer options where the platform supports them; otherwise a numbered fallback.

Note

Decision Board simulates perspectives and does not replace real professionals. For legal, medical, financial, security or privacy decisions the result is preparation for a real review — with a question list, risk overview and checkpoints. Confidence levels are the panel's estimates, not objective truth.

Frequently asked questions

What does Decision Board do?

Decision Board is a decision-making skill that runs a structured panel of experts, stakeholders and critical counter-voices. Instead of one AI answer you get a real second opinion: independent first judgments, a genuine debate, an assumption and risk check, a minority report and a clear, traceable recommendation.

What makes Decision Board different from a normal AI answer?

A normal AI answer gives a single view. Decision Board is a decision-making skill that simulates a structured panel: each role judges independently first (anti-groupthink), then debates; assumptions and conflicts are made visible and risks are tested — so you get a real second opinion ending in a clear recommendation with conditions, a next test and a minority report, not just an opinion.

What is a decision round in Decision Board?

The decision round is the heart of Decision Board: a moderated panel of 3–7 experts, stakeholders and deliberate counter-voices that examines an idea, strategy or option from several angles — independently first, then together — and condenses it into a traceable recommendation.

When should I use Decision Board?

Use it whenever a decision deserves more than one opinion and you want to stress-test it before you commit: product ideas, feature prioritization, launch checks, strategy, marketing/positioning, technical architecture, projects, or any 'should we do X — and which option is better?'. For trivial, easily reversible questions Decision Board deliberately runs only a short Quick Board instead of a full board.

Does Decision Board need web search or files?

No — Decision Board works fully text-only. When web search, files, deep research or connectors are available it uses them transparently (Evidence Mode) and backs strong claims with sources. Without external data it clearly marks assumptions and open checkpoints instead of faking certainty.

Does Decision Board replace real experts?

No. Decision Board simulates perspectives and does not replace real legal, medical, financial or security advice. For high-stakes topics it produces preparation — a question list, risk overview and checkpoints — and explicitly recommends a real professional review.
