Pen & Paper Companion is a tabletop-RPG companion skill that keeps ONE character across every session and campaign — story, allies, enemies, spells and gear live in files you own. Say "Open Vaelis" and your AI knows it all and plays them in-character. D&D, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu and more, one-shot to years-long campaign.

What this skill does

  • Keeps long-term memory per character in your own files (master data, chronicle, volatile session state) — you own it all, nothing hosted externally.
  • On "Open <name>" it loads the character instantly and delivers a recap: last session, "next time" cliffhanger, open quests, current status.
  • Plays in-character in a fixed format (🎭 says · 🧠 thinks · 🎲 rules help · 🏹 tactics) in the character's consistent voice.
  • Scales the long-term machinery by campaign type (one-shot / medium / long) and by intensity (low/medium/high) — switchable anytime.
  • Offers beginner mode (glossary one-liners, "why useful/keep", spotlight tips) through pro mode (action economy, edge cases, probabilities in meta mode).
  • Keeps in-world languages consistent: original + translation, a persistent phrasebook, only languages the character actually knows.
  • At session end proposes memory updates as a diff (chronicle, cliffhanger, roster, legend book) — the player confirms.
  • Is system-agnostic (D&D 5e 2024, Pathfinder, DSA, Call of Cthulhu …) and asks for the system at start.

Description

Pen & Paper Companion is a skill for tabletop RPGs and pen-and-paper roleplaying — a long-term character keeper that tracks ONE D&D, Pathfinder or Call of Cthulhu character across every session, remembers the story, allies and gear from your own files, recaps where you left off and plays them in-character with you. Never the game master, never rolling dice, never deciding. Not a Game Master, not a rulebook, not a tool — an intelligent travel companion for exactly one character. Memory lives in portable files YOU own (GDPR-clean, nothing hosted externally): attach the folder, play, save the updated files back. On command it loads your character, confirms the state and delivers a recap (last session, cliffhanger, open quests, status). It replies in-character (🎭 says · 🧠 thinks · 🎲 rules help · 🏹 tactics), recalls in a character-true way (precise on the current, fading on the old), keeps in-world languages consistent with original + translation, and at session end proposes memory updates as a diff — nothing is saved silently. Scales from one-shot to years-long campaign, is system-agnostic and bundles no publisher rules text (legally clean; it adjudicates from model knowledge + your table rulings). One-time purchase, runs locally with your own AI.

Examples

What it does not do

  • Never the GM, never takes the character, never decides for you — it suggests, reminds, accompanies.
  • Never rolls: it names the check, difficulty and your modifier — you roll.
  • Never saves memory silently — every change comes as a diff you confirm.
  • Bundles no publisher rules text and builds no full rules engine — it adjudicates from model knowledge + your house rules.
  • No spoilers/monster stats in-character, and no invented language passed off as "canonical".
